Domiciliary Care Insurance Policy Specification
The Giles 'Assist' Domiciliary Care Insurance scheme, underwritten by Brit, is specifically designed for organisations working in the domiciliary and home care sectors. The policy provides a package of covers with the option to add further sections or increase limits if required.
Liabilities
- Employers Liability @ £10,000,000 Limit of Indemnity (Terrorism £5,000,000)
- Public Liability @ £10,000,000 Limit of Indemnity
- Professional Indemnity @ £2,000,000 Limit of Indemnity
- Includes cover for Liabilities arising from any error or omission by the Insured in the provision of nursing care, first aid, administration of medication
- Liability for theft of customer’s property by employees – Limit £25,000

Legal Expenses
- £50,000 Limit of Indemnity (unless specified otherwise)
- Includes Legal Expenses arising from Employment Tribunals, Taxation Proceedings, Criminal Prosecution Defence, Property and Data Protection
Contents
- Standard Sum Insured £15,000, including up to £7,500 of Computer Equipment and up to £7,500 for prescription drugs and medicines and medical supplies.
- All Risks of Physical Loss or Damage
- £1,000 Clothing & Personal Effects cover
- £100 excess
- Minimum Level of Security Condition
Money
- Up to £3,000 in transit, bank night safe or at the premises when open for business
- Up to £1,000 in a locked safe outside working hours
- PA / Assault @ £25,000 / £100pw
Business Interruption
- £250,000 Loss of Income and Additional Expenses
- Extensions including outbreak of notifiable human disease, failure of public utilities, denial of access
