Claims
We are here to assist with claims and wish to provide you with a high level of service. To this end we will become involved to whatever extent is necessary.
However many Insurers now operate a Claims Helpline Service and assuming matters run smoothly this is often the quickest and most convenient method of intimating and dealing with minor claims.
Where claims are notified direct to Insurers they will advise us but we receive only brief outline details of the date and circumstances of the loss.
Larger cases should be initiated via Carrick Neill or Giles Insurance Brokers unless out of office hours when the Helpline's can be used for immediate advice and assistance.
Please remember that you should not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or concerns that are not being addressed to your satisfaction, once we are aware of the situation, we will do all we can to help.
Remember that in an emergency the Insurers expect you to act as if you had no insurance i.e. if you need to take steps to minimise the loss (such as temporary boarding or tarpaulins) do not wait for instructions or be afraid to make decisions.
As long as you act within reason, expenditure to reduce the potential overall claim is normally recoverable (assuming sums insured etc are adequate).
