An internal investigation has been launched at a Scottish firm that was featured in a recent Panorama programme exposing poor standards of domiciliary care.
The BBC team used undercover reporters and hidden cameras to reveal that some carers at Domiciliary Care lacked the necessary training to carry out their jobs and had overloaded caseloads.
Bob MacLean, chief executive of the company's owners Choice for Care Group, would not say how many workers were affected but confirmed that an investigation into the allegations was being held.
He commented: "Some workers have been suspended while this investigation takes place, but this is a natural process to make sure they are protected while proper procedure is followed."
The United Care Home Association described the findings of the Panorama programme as "deeply disturbing" but added that the vast majority of homecare services in England and Scotland have been judged to be good or excellent.
